Privacy Policy

Shinagawa Refractories Co., Ltd. and its affiliates* (hereinafter referred to as "the Company Group") have established the following policy regarding the handling of personal information and will endeavor to ensure the proper and smooth operation of business activities.

* "Affiliates" refers to the Company's consolidated subsidiaries and equity-method associates.

1. Basic Policy on Personal Information Protection

(1) The Company Group, considering the expansion of the use of personal information due to the progress of the advanced information and communication society, will make efforts to protect individuals' rights and interests while considering the usefulness of personal information.

(2) The Company Group will not only comply with the "Personal Information Protection Act," the "Act on the Use of Numbers for Identifying Specific Individuals in Administrative Procedures," and other related laws and regulations but also strive to protect personal information in accordance with the spirit of the law.

(3) The Company Group will establish internal regulations for the management of personal information, and through thorough awareness, education, and awareness-raising activities for executives, employees, and others, will make efforts to ensure the proper protection of personal information. Additionally, the Company Group will continuously review and improve this policy and internal regulations.

2. Policy on the Acquisition, Use, etc., of Personal Information

(1) Clarification of Purpose, Proper Acquisition, and Use

The Company Group will, to the extent possible, clearly define the purpose of use when handling personal information. We will not acquire or use personal information beyond the defined purposes without the prior consent of the individual concerned. Furthermore, we will not acquire personal information through false or other unlawful means. Additionally, we will not use personal information in a manner that could promote or induce illegal or improper activities.

(2) Appropriate Security Management Measures

The Company Group will strive to maintain the accuracy of the personal information we acquire and will implement necessary and appropriate measures to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, loss, alteration, or destruction of personal information. Moreover, we will provide appropriate supervision to executives, employees, and contractors handling personal information to ensure the safety management of such information.

(3) Provision for Third Parties and Joint Use

Except in cases specified by laws and regulations, the Company Group will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the individual concerned. In cases of joint use of personal information, we will notify or publicly announce the matters specified by laws and regulations to the individual concerned beforehand.

(4) Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, and Complaint Handling

In cases where the individual concerned requests notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, suspension of third-party provision, or disclosure of records related to third-party provision of personal information, the Company Group will take appropriate actions in accordance with laws and regulations. Additionally, we will make efforts to handle complaints regarding the handling of personal information promptly and appropriately.

(5) Handling of Specific Personal Information

The Company Group will handle specific personal information, which includes personal numbers, in accordance with the "Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify Specific Individuals in Administrative Procedures," and will ensure that such information is handled securely and appropriately as follows:
